Three leadership styles that can use by managers are transactional, transformational, and charismatic leadership. A charismatic leadership style involves leader-follower exchanges necessary for achieving routine performance agreed upon between the leader and the follow er (Schermerhorn, et al., 2003). Transactional leadership is a leadership style that is well suited for application in the healthcare field. In hospital setting nurses and other workers need precise instruction from their superiors on what to do. The work of workers in the healthcare field is extremely because it can save lives.
